How to pronounce Seymour? This occurred to me after reading about Teddy Seymour.
Mour sounds like more. poor/tour sounds like pore/tore.
How about sey? Is it like see or like say? Both are possible.
However, there is a preference based on the great vowel shift. The vowel in SEE is higher than that in SAY, and the latter vowel shifted to the former position. Therefore, Seymour sounds like SEE-more.
