When I turned on my t61, i was welcomed with "0192 Embedded Security hardware tamper detected". Even tho the data on that lappy is not that valuable, it is annoying to find a backup somewhere (like, internet, gmail, flash drives).
I pulled out the harddrive, looking for some sata to usb adapter to transfer the data. Before going to frys, I thought of plugging in the HD back. Which I did; turned on the laptop, the os came back with the login screen.
This taught me to buy LG 2T nas device, which is better than buying a new laptop without a proper backup.
