When brits heard of the sound of YSR's district, they transcribed it as cudapah.
Cudapah is pronounced as /kədəpɑ/ or / kyudəpɑ/.
Kadapa is pronounced as /kædəpə/, which is not close to what people say /kədəpə/.
Brits are closer to the original pronunciation: cudapah is right.
We got half-baked assholes teaching english or writing english text books, like the idiots like V. Sasikumar and Gangaraju who wrote english text books from 6th class to 10th for ZP highschools. These idiots don't know much about english phonology, phonics, except they know phonemes of English.
look at another prounciation: subbiah, subbaiah.
Subiah is british's spelling of what they have heard, and those who use such -iah- for telugu "yya" have no clue why they use -iah- and yet use it; on the other, they want "kadapa".
