Instead of forcing Americans to your native phonology, just respell your friggin' name so that it fits to English phonology, and yet doesn't change the sound of your name. Many Indians don't get this; they instead pick names like neal, etc.
Umm431 is an enlightened citizen, in this aspect: the pronunciation of his name in his native lingo is /keɪ mi/. However, the spelling pronunciation of cami is: /kæmi/, that's what you expect Americans to pronounce. How to solve this riddle?
Respell it in such a way that you get the original pronunciation:
camey = /keɪ mi/
Romney, stacey, casey, berkley, etc. (cf. case, stace, merkle)
came = /keɪ m/, e silent.
the trick is: add y.
