Since english is a phrase-timed lingo, the tempo of the syllables in anacrusis is faster than others like the intonational nucleus. By consequence, the pronunciation of all words depends on the tempo or the place in a sentence. Pronouncing dictionaries, like Kenyon & Knott for AmE, Well's LPD, Daniel Jone's EPD, are silent on this matter. Kenyon & Knott are good at transcribing rhotic vowels: various pronunciations of 'very', for instance.
Bailey tackles this tempo in his works: his EPT, and a note on syllabization published by Indiana Univ Linguistics Club
